The Learning
A Personalized Path to Mastery
At Hadar Hatorah, we believe that every Jewish man deserves access to his heritage, regardless of his starting point. Our curriculum is designed to meet you exactly where you are. We focus on building the foundational skills—reading, translation, and analysis—that allow you to eventually open a Jewish text and learn on your own.
Levels of Study
Our classes are divided into levels to ensure every student is both challenged and supported. As your skills improve, you will transition into higher-level classes at the discretion of the faculty.
-
Level 1 (Beginner): Focuses on the "Building Blocks." Students learn to read and translate Hebrew, master basic day-to-day Jewish law (Halacha), and begin exploring the core concepts of Tanya and Chassidic discourses.
-
Level 2 (Intermediate): Transitioning to independent study. Students begin navigating the text of the Gemara and Rashi, deepening their understanding of Jewish Law, and engaging with more complex Chassidic texts.
-
Level 3 (Advanced): High-level analysis. Students dive into Gemara with Rashi and Tosafos, study the Shulchan Aruch HaRav in depth, and analyze advanced Chassidic philosophy.
Core Subjects
-
Gemara: Developing the logic and analytical skills to navigate the Talmud.
-
Chassidus: Exploring the inner dimension of the Torah, from the foundations of Tanya to the talks (Sichos) and discourses (Maamarim) of the Chabad rebbeim.
-
Halacha: Practical application of Jewish law to daily life, ensuring you have the knowledge to live as a practicing Jew.
-
Chumash: Mastery of the Five Books of Moses with the essential commentary of Rashi.
