The Ingathering
of the Generations
Avraham Kamman
The Mishna tells us
that 40 years begins the time of understanding (binah). At 40 - the Rebbe
has taught us many times - one enters in to the knowledge (daas) of his
Rebbe. So we're hoping for a reunion which has its serious side, an
experience which will somehow deepen our understanding and knowledge of the
application of Chassidus to ourselves and our portion in the world that we
have been given to elevate.
We're also looking
forward to a really good time. "How good and how sweet it is, brothers
sitting together as one". Coming from the ingathering of Shavuos, when
we camped at Har Sinai "like one man with one heart", we're
looking to extend that 'camp out', that feeling of unity, at this Reunion.
There will be mashke, music, good food, good talk, and good friends.
But most of all
there will be 40 years of experiences to be shared - old friends, new
friends, rebbeim, and mashpiim just being together. May the Simcha of our
Reunion shatter the final barriers and reveal the light of Moshiach now.
